WELS/ILS Call Updates

Active Calls

  • Mrs. Stacey Sievert received a call to Gethsemane Lutheran School in Omaha, NE to teach preschool. Mrs. Sievert currently serves as a preschool teacher, librarian and teacher aide at ILES. (smsievert@illinoislutheran.org)

  • Mr. Nathan Hinz received a call to Salem Lutheran School in Milwaukee, WI to teach 7th grade. Mr. Hinz currently teaches at the high school and serves as the activities director for ILS. (nhinz@ilhs.org)

  • Pastor Phil Huebner — ILS President (currently serving at Wisconsin Lutheran High School as the campus pastor, phil.huebner@wlhs.org, 386-237-4368)

  • Joseph Blum — ILS Dean of Students (currently serving at Fox Valley Lutheran High School, jblum@fvlhs.org, 920-737-5481)

  • Kat Blumer — Preschool Teacher (currently serving at Good Shepherd Lutheran Academy, Downers Grove, katblumer@gmail.com, 262-617-6924)

Call Decisions

  • Mrs. Kelly Henning, who currently serves as a preschool teacher at ILES, has accepted the call to serve as the 8th grade homeroom teacher and junior high/high school teacher at Illinois Lutheran.

  • Mr. Matthew Foley has returned (declined) the call to serve as the ILS President.

  • Mrs. Emma Tesch has returned (declined) the call to serve as the 8th grade homeroom teacher and teach high school English.

  • Pastor Italiano has accepted his divine call to be pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Muskego, WI. His family will be staying through the end of the school year. Please keep Pastor and his family in your prayers as they prepare for this transition, as well as keep Trinity in your prayers as we navigate through the call process and steps to be taken to carry on without him.   • Mr. Phil Adickes, our Dean of Students and teacher at the junior high/high school campus, has accepted his call to serve at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran School in Menasha, WI.  Please keep Mr. Adickes and his family in your prayers as they make this transition this summer. Also, keep Illinois Lutheran in your prayers as they navigate through the call process to replace Mr. Adickes.

  • Rev. Buske and Mrs. Punke both returned (declined) their calls issued by ILS.  The Board will meet again soon to make new calls for these vacancies.

  • Mrs. Megan Deenik, ILES second grade teacher, received a call to teach 2nd grade at Divine Savior - Del Ray in Del Ray Beach, FL. She has decided to return (decline) the call and will be staying here in Crete.

  • Both Mr. Herbst and Miss Lau have returned (declined) their calls to Illinois Lutheran. (Mr. Herbst was called to serve as president of Illinois Lutheran Schools and Miss Lau was called to serve as a high school and junior high English teacher and 8th grade homeroom teacher.)  The board for Illinois Lutheran Schools will make additional calls soon for these positions.

  • Pastor Workentine has decided to return (decline) his Call to Illinois Lutheran Schools to serve as the ILS president. He will continue serving at St. Mark’s in Green Bay, WI. The board will meet again soon to extend a new call out for the ILS president. Please keep Illinois Lutheran Schools, St Mark's and the Workentines in your thoughts and prayers.

  • Pastor Ben Schaefer was previously called to be our ILS President. He has decided to return (decline) the call.

  • Pastor Cook has decided to return (decline) the call to serve at CrossWalk in Phoenix, Arizona.
