Our Staff

Pastor Italiano is in his 20th year at Trinity. He’s had many roles over the years—outreach, youth & family, worship, and now “lead pastor.” Some might say he’s an “old face” with a new job.

Melissa has served as our PMM Coordinator since 2015. Her job is to help members find the right fit to use their unique gifts to glorify God.

Tracy has assisted the PMM Coordinator since 2012. With her mind to detail, she takes care of all the behind the scenes details for PMM.

Donna took over from Helen Blauert in June and has done an amazing job. She has years of experience in child development and office and accounting experience before that.

MaryBeth is no stranger at Trinity. After decades of experience at Old Plank Trail Bank in Steger working with the community and promoting the bank, MaryBeth is now serving Trinity’s Board of Outreach and promoting Jesus to the community.

Amanda has been the Administrative Assistant for Trinity’s Board of Family since August 2019. She enjoys using her experience in the field of Early Childhood Education to coordinate our Treehouse and Timbers programs.

Colton is a 2015 Graduate of Illinois Lutheran High School and is currently a UX Design freelancer. His responsibility at Trinity includes producing videos, maintaining administrative software, and planning technology phases.

Joshua has been a part of the blended worship ministry at Trinity for a number of years. We are excited to have him now serving in a staff role by coordinating the scheduling of musicians, singers and the audio/video tech crew for blended worship practices and services.

Amanda has been keeping the books and paying the bills since 2005. She is such a faithful servant!

Debbie took over from Marlene Sebrowski this year, confidentially recording offerings into our church management software.

Fonda has helped out as a substitute custodian for years, and now she has taken over from Diane Nacke. She’s also cleaning at ILHS, so she knows how to clean a bathroom!

Lorilee helps Fonda Bradford with custodian work and brings a smile to everything she does.

What We Believe

Trinity is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.

Throughout the history of the Christian Church, errors have crept in challenging basic beliefs established in God's Word—including that Christ is true God and the concept of the Trinity, that God is in fact Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The early church fathers drafted creeds, or statements of belief, to clarify these biblical truths. As WELS Lutherans, we hold to three main creeds that have been the pillars of Christianity for centuries: the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed.

In the 16th century, Martin Luther and other reformers addressed the false teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church. Luther came to see that sinners are saved by the grace of God as a result of Jesus Christ's perfect life and perfect death on the cross—not through any merit or effort of their own. Luther and others authored the six Lutheran confessions—to which we as WELS Lutherans still subscribe today because we believe they are a correct explanation of biblical truth.

Trinity has over 160 years of history in Crete. We love our Lord Jesus, and strive to live our lives to his glory. At Trinity, we believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God. Based on the Scriptures, we proclaim Jesus Christ as the true Son of God and Savior of the world. God’s gift of salvation is given to all who believe in Jesus as their Savior.

Our Mission Statement: Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, a family of believers, shares the gospel of Jesus Christ to nurture God's people and to reach out to bring others to Christ, all to glorify God.

Our Philosophy of Ministry is The Three Rs. To help us be effective (doing the right things) and efficient (doing things right) in carrying out our mission of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to nurture God's people and reach out to bring others to Christ, the ministries and programs developed and carried out at Trinity are:

Reverent - pointing people to Jesus
Relevant - meeting people where they are
Relational - building meaningful personal relationships

Our mission statement summarizes why we are “a place to come home to.”  As a family of believers, we seek to reflect the love of Christ in all that we do – in our relationship with God, with each other, and with the community.
