The Executive Board consists of the congregation’s executive officers (chairman, secretary, treasurer) elected by the voters. The administrative pastor serves as not-voting ex-officio member. Other pastor(s) and staff minister(s) serve as non-voting advisory members. The Executive Board is chaired by the congregational chairman. The Executive Board serves the Coordinating Council. It is an authoritative, decision-making body when it acts on behalf of the Council between meetings.
The Chairman of the Congregation is elected by the voters to his position. He serves as the person in charge of voters meetings, council meetings, and executive board meetings. The Chairman of the Board works closely with the Executive Board and the Administrative Pastor.
The Secretary is elected by the voters to his position. He serves as the person responsible for keeping the official record of what took place during Executive Board meetings, Coordinating Council meetings and Voters meetings. The Secretary works closely with the Executive Board and the Administrative Pastor.
The Christian Giving Ministry Coordinator serves to educate, motivate, and enable the members of the congregation in making planned gifts, and to provide liaison with the Synod Christian Giving Counselor.
The Bookkeeper issues and records the payroll and accounts payable checks written by the church. He or she also prepares monthly reports that are given to the Treasurer as well as any specific reports requested by the ministerial staff or board members. The Bookkeeper is appointed by the Executive Board.
The Contribution Records Committee (CRC) Chairman is elected by the Trinity Voters. He oversees the work of the CRC, which receives all the money given to Trinity, properly accounts for it, and deposits it in the bank.
The Contribution Records Committee Counter is appointed by the Executive Board. He or she works with the Contribution Records Committee which receives all the money given to Trinity, properly accounts for it, and deposits it in the bank.
The Financial Secretary records member contributions into the church’s computer system and forwards the Simply Giving (donations made electronically) and Thrivent Choice totals to the Treasurer of the Congregation. The Financial Secretary is appointed by the Executive Board.
The Joint Endowment Committee works within the guidelines set forth by the Constitutions of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and Illinois Lutheran Schools, the By-Laws of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Endowment, NFP and the Illinois Lutheran Schools Endowment, NFP, and the Endowment Fund Investment and Distribution Policies, with advice and counsel of an outside professional financial consultant.
The Student Aid Fund Committee works within the guidelines set forth by the Constitution of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church Student Aid Fund with the advice and counsel of the Administrative Pastor and Executive Board.
Oversees the stewardship committee, ensures that tasks are being completed on time. Works with the committee and church council to implement the annual stewardship plan/process. Works with WELS Ministry of Christian Giving.
