No Longer Mailing the Monthly Newsletter
As times are changing, the same can be said of our church newsletter. The day I brought the November newsletter to the post office, I received a call that afternoon from one of the postal workers there. It appears that the U.S. Postal Service has changed the rules when it comes to bulk mailings and our church body does not fit within those parameters.
The bulk mail rules are now that we have to have a minimum of 150 pieces going to Crete and minimum of 150 going to any zip code 604__. As a church body, we do not fit that criteria. If we were to continue to mail out the newsletter, it would now cost us 4 times more per month to mail it out.
Therefore, we have come to the decision to no longer mail out the newsletter. It will be sent out electronically on or near the 1st of every month and we will have physical copies here at church that you can pick up. The only ones we will mail to are shut-ins. This change is effective immediately and will start with the December newsletter and all others going forward.
If there is anyone that you know of that does not receive the E-Tidings, please share this information with them. If they would like to receive the newsletter, please have them give me their email address so I can add them to the list.
Lastly, you may not know this but I have had a team of people that spent an hour to 2 hours every month getting the newsletter ready to be mailed out. They would fold, seal, address, and sort over 400 newsletters month after month, year after year. I have already thanked them for their time privately but also wanted to acknowledge them here too. I couldn't have done it without them! Thank you, Newsletter Team! I am beyond grateful for all the time you have given. It was truly appreciated!
If you should have any questions regarding this change, please let me know.
